Solar greenhouses
We have 300 hectares under plastic in the south-east of Spain plus 100 hectares in North Africa, the latter of which enables us to boost our production during the winter months and thus be able to offer our varieties throughout the 12 months of the year in a stable way.
The structures built before 2010 are of the Almeria type, which have been considerably improved in terms of ferti-irrigation and ventilation systems and renovation of the environment inside the greenhouses. The structures built from 2010 onwards are high-tech multitunnel type, which account for almost 30% of the total surface area. The improvement in this type of greenhouse is substantial in terms of climate control, since between 30% and 40% of the roof is mobile, thus ensuring almost instantaneous air renewal, adjusting the humidity and the ideal temperature for the crop automatically and constantly. The ogival roof arches with an angle of inclination of more than 23% ensure the maximum possible reception of light into the interior.
